Job Description & Responsibilities
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Analyst supports data analysis and usage requirements and focuses on data and integration intensive initiatives working with all teams within Data and Analytics. Primary responsibilities include working with understanding data analysis and integration requirements and supporting the solution design and architecture of data platform capabilities (EDW, Data Marts, Data Sharing Repositories, Materialized Views etc.) to meet these needs. The Data Analyst will work closely with the Analytics Centers of Excellence Core leaders, members of the Enterprise Information Management teams, and Applications teams to build and support the strategic approaches and methods to a variety of analyses.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Work within Service Delivery teams to understand analytics requirements for data
- Support solution design to meet data acquisition, integration and provisioning requirements and envision future use cases for the enterprise data platform.
- Identify new opportunities to leverage data and to integrate data or applications to enhance business value.
- Coordinate with data owners to ensure data accessibility and quality and contribute to management of central data stores and metadata.
- Preparing forecasts and analyzes data trends, identify data anomalies and conduct deep dive data analysis.
- Carefully analyze the data and draw conclusions, communicating the results in a clear, concise and actionable manner
- Collate, Cleanse and Organize data from several sources and work with cross‐functional project teams that include Business Analysts, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Quality Assurance, and Data visualization
- Communicate directly with team members/support team to diagnose and resolve data platform issues.
- Work with other team members to continually improve our delivery and processes.
- Create and maintain documentation of data procedures, policies, and adaptation.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
A Masters degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis or related in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics or related area; or, one (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience as described above; or
A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
- Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.
Department Preferences
- Popular data discovery, analytics and BI software tools like [Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI and others] for semantic-layer-based data discovery
- Data analysis, data discovery, data exploration, data profiling methods used to support development of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes
- 1+ years of experience working with Snowflake
- 1+ years of experience working with Data Integration software such as Informatica PowerCenter, or IBM DataStage
- Experience in Data Warehousing roles or functions such as quality assurance/testing, development, enterprise architecture, or project management.
- Experience working on a project using Agile
- Experience with advanced analytics tools for Object-oriented/object function scripting using languages such as R, Python, Java, C++, Scala, others
- 5+ years of experience with popular database programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL (required), others for relational databases and certifications on upcoming NoSQL/Hadoop oriented databases (preferred) like MongoDB, Cassandra, others for nonrelational databases.
- 5+ years of experience working with healthcare data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions.
- 2+ years of experience supporting production data engineering and production data products (data warehouses, data marts, data hubs, data lakes)
