Power BI Developer Contractor job description

Seeking a PowerBI Developer to create and maintain data visualization solutions using Microsoft PowerBI, with a focus on features including Zoom Charts integration and Azure platform expertise. This role involves working with data sourced from Databricks and prefers experience in connecting PowerBI to Databricks environments to deliver actionable insights through interactive dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a customer to design, develop, and deploy PowerBI reports and dashboards using best practices taking performance optimization into consideration

  • Integrate and customize Zoom Charts plugin functionality to enhance data visualization capabilities

  • Implement efficient data refresh strategies between Databricks and PowerBI

  • Create and maintain data models, relationships, and DAX calculations

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements to create visualizations

  • Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy

  • Provide documentation for reports and data models

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience developing PowerBI reports and dashboards

  • Strong proficiency in DAX, M language, and PowerBI service administration

  • Demonstrated experience implementing Zoom Charts plugin and creating custom visualizations

  • Expert knowledge of data modeling and star schema design

  • Proficient in SQL and data manipulation techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Implement row-level security and manage PowerBI workspace administration
