Job Description & Responsibilities
The Strategic Finance team drives leverage and investing in opportunities for growth. Our team is tasked with building targets, setting budgets, and helping leaders execute against plans. This encompasses a wide breadth of business partnership and reporting for the Executive Team and Board of Directors. This dynamic team is responsible for in-depth data analysis and strategic awareness that drive decisions and the overall direction of the company.
As a Senior Data Analyst at Vanta, you will be the technical liaison between the Strategic Finance team and all other functions at the company. You will be instrumental in building, analyzing, and reporting on large sets of data and various projects. The Strategic Finance team partners with every organization in the company and within this role, you will be at the forefront of cross collaboration and decision-making driven by data. This role will report into our Head of FP&A and is a perfect blend of technical expertise, analytical acumen, and business partnership.
What you’ll do as a Senior Data Analyst at Vanta:
- Exhibit technical data expertise: Act as a technical liaison between the Strategic Finance team and business partners in RevOps, Analytics, Data Engineering, Marketing, and others
- Deliver strategic insights: Conduct comprehensive data analysis via prioritization-driven projects to drive financial outcomes for the company
- Cross-functional collaboration: Enable key stakeholders on insights produced and provide data-driven recommendations to improve business outcomes
- Drive team productivity: Automate Strategic Finance team deliverables to enable the function scale within a growing and maturing company
- Creation: Build out and maintain Strategic Finance data sets and reporting within Sigma Computing and Tableau
- Evolve analytical capabilities: Partner with Data Engineering to shape the roadmap and development of datasets, continuously enhancing our analytical capabilities
Requirements
How to be successful in this role:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis or equivalent function. Experience within SaaS, consulting, or investment banking types of industries is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical experience with SQL and working with large sets of data. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), Salesforce, and Python/R; experience in DBT (Snowflake) is preferred. Bonus for experience in Sigma Computing
- Analytical Thinking: Strong capability to analyze complex data sets, extract key insights, and translate them into actionable strategies that drive business impact.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively and establish relationships with business partners
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex data insights in a comprehensible and engaging manner.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Informatics, Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields. A Master’s degree or higher is advantageous.

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The salary or OTE range for this position is $157,000 - $185,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
