Job Description & Responsibilities
The Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University seeks an i-team Data Analytics Manager to support new Innovation Teams (“i-teams”) in Jackson, MS, and Nashville, TN. These teams collaborate closely with city leadership to address complex urban challenges through data-driven strategies and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement data analytics approaches to understand and address complex city issues.
Collaborate with city officials, departments, and community stakeholders to identify data needs and opportunities.
Utilize programming languages (e.g., Python) or statistical packages (e.g., R) to analyze data and generate insights.
Translate data findings into actionable strategies and communicate results to diverse audiences.
Contribute to the innovation process beyond quantitative analysis, including stakeholder engagement and solution design.
Locations
Jackson, MS – Based in Jackson City Hall.
Nashville, TN – Based in Nashville City Hall.
Both positions report to the i-team Director and are integral to advancing the Center's mission of fostering public sector innovation.

Requirements
Qualifications
Strong background in data analytics, including proficiency in relevant programming languages or statistical tools.
Experience with data visualization and translating complex data into understandable insights.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Interest in public sector innovation and community-focused initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
