Senior Data Analyst, Staff job description

We are looking for an experienced analyst who will be providing analytical insights and providing strategic recommendations to senior leaders through the use of credit data. In this role, you will work hands-on within an extensive data warehouse environment, to build visibility into how the business can leverage credit data to drive the business forward. The ideal candidate should have proven hands-on experience in the financial services industry as well as an understanding of how credit data can provide insight into consumer financial health.

What you’ll do:

  • Data Infrastructure - Partner with Data Engineering and Product to transform complicated credit data sets into simpler data models to be leveraged by a broader audience. Goal is to make credit data more readily accessible to a broader team of analysts
  • Core understanding of all the different uses of credit data across the business along with an understanding of the value those use cases provide to the business
  • Extract insights from the data warehouse through the use of SQL & data visualization tools to identify opportunities for how Achieve can use credit data to drive value for the business
  • Develop reports and process to help identify key trends in the demographics and financial health of consumers seeking Achieve services
  • Maintain and enhance internal consumer profile trends for the different business units
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate credit data cost and its value to the various initiatives within the organization
Senior Data Analyst, Staff job requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in an analytical role in the financial services industry, ideally in credit risk space
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with reporting tools such as Tableau, Looker or others (Python is a plus)
  • Deep understanding of credit attributes, bureau data and its utilization in decision making within the financial services industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders from different areas and levels of management
  • Ability to translate requests into a well thought out approach and execution plan
  • Proven experience in building, delivering and maintaining reports using data visualization software (Tableau is a plus)
