Job Description & Responsibilities
The Data Analytics team is a pivotal part of the organization, closely collaborating with major stakeholders across the company including Product, Finance, Operations, Growth Marketing, Merchandising, and Logistics. The team's primary goal is to craft insightful reporting on key metrics, empowering immediate and impactful actions. They are recognized as trusted advisors, having a significant voice in guiding the strategic direction of these departments.
As a team, they foster both specialization and generalization. Each team member serves as a point of contact for a specific department, ensuring tailored support and expertise. Simultaneously, they emphasize a broad understanding of all departments they work with, ensuring a cohesive, supportive environment where knowledge is shared, and support and collaboration is common.
About the Role:
As a Senior Data Analyst at Misfits Market it will be your responsibility to gather insights from and visualize the growing e-commerce and operational data sets. Your expertise will be invaluable to move teams from descriptive to actionable and self-serve reporting. This position will initially focus on the needs of Operations, but the collaborative nature of the team will see you gaining experience with all areas of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the teams and stakeholders across the company to identify impactful business problems and translate them into structured analyses and actionable insights
- Develop reporting dashboards, currently in Mode Analytics
- Dive into complex SQL and break down problems
- Define areas of opportunity to move from descriptive to predictive analytics, and ad-hoc to self-serve reporting
- Maintain analytics roadmap to prioritize initiatives, communicate timelines, and ensure successful, timely completion of deliverables
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or Bachelor’s degree in the same fields with at least 4 years of relevant work experience
- Skilled in SQL - comfortable with window functions, CTEs, and capable of handling and parsing complex data structures
- Experience with visualization tools, such as Mode, Tableau, PowerBI, etc
- Strong skills in statistical analysis and experimentation
- Experience with data pipelines - have created and/or are comfortable communicating ETL needs to engineering
- Strong communication skills - you can gather user stories and translate data insights to stakeholders of varying levels of technical knowledge
Preferred / Nice to have:
- Experience with dbt
- Proficiency with Python or R
- Familiarity with inventory segmentation, customer segmentation
- Experience working with Operations teams (inventory, supply chain, fulfillment)
