Senior Data Analyst job description

As a Data Analyst Senior in the Agency System and Experience (ASE) team, you’ll spearhead analytics for the innovative Book Builder program at Progressive, aimed at revolutionizing the way partner agents requote competitor policies. Your responsibilities will include developing assessment tools for new opportunities, monitoring interaction dashboards, and supporting agent scorecards and program performance indicators. Reporting to the ASE team with a dotted line to the Book Builder manager, you will ensure data-driven decision-making and operational success. Collaborating with tenured analysts, you’ll receive support, training, and engage in project collaboration to enhance your analytical skills and contribute significantly to the Book Builder project. This position offers a unique blend of teamwork, advanced analytical challenges, and the opportunity to drive growth and profitability through the independent agent channel.

Senior Data Analyst job requirements

Must-have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of three years of analytical work experience
  • Instead of a quantitative degree, a bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of five years of analytical work experience
  • Instead of a degree, a minimum of six years of analytical work experience

Preferred Skills

  • Possesses the ability to apply analytical techniques, such as regression and trend analysis, and explain them using simple, clear language and visuals (e.g., dashboards, Excel models, interfaces).
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with proven track record of taking initiative to identify and act on opportunities for improvement.
  • Capable of quickly learning other reporting tools, such as Tableau.
  • Experience in developing and documenting new methodologies to automate reporting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AQW, MDW, PDS, Agency Quoting, FAO, DEAL, and possibly Salesforce, and the ability to access these through SQL, SAS, R, Python, etc., is preferred.
