Senior Data Analyst job description

Position Overview:

  • Campbell Ewald is looking for an energetic and experienced Senior Analyst to join our fun and expanding Analytics group. As part of the Analytics group, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop cloud-based data solutions and infrastructure for the agency. The successful candidate will be integral in driving the data technology roadmap delivery, and ensuring business data is seamlessly managed and secured within the enterprise. The candidate will have a mix of technical background and strong business acumen that will enable them to draw meaningful business conclusions and insights from a wide variety of data sources and structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the definition of CE’s data architectural strategy, data roadmap, operational plan, and life cycle management, to enable the organization to achieve its business strategy and financial performance targets, in addition to ensuring consistency of the enterprise data architecture.
  • Assist in the data engineering and integration process to create data pipelines and model new data sets into data warehousing systems.
  • Develop architecture supporting end to end data integration process using ETL and ELT, for structured and un-structured data.
  • Write complex SQL queries for purposes of analyzing data and evaluating how information needs would be translated into backend database structures.
  • Design and recommend business intelligence and data visualization solutions aimed at providing clients clear actionable insights, in a simple yet effective way.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement data strategies, design, and build robust data flows and develop conceptual data models.
  • Assist in the technical implementation of tag management solutions to ensure all functions of tagging, troubleshooting, QA and maintenance are performed accurately.
  • Work closely with team members to identify any gaps in data capture, and proactively recommend and implement data enhancements.
  • Partner with team leads to implement and maintain best practices around data strategy and analytics.
Senior Data Analyst job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience of data engineering solutions development (including data and analytics), enterprise architecture, and integration with downstream transactional systems.
  • Data integration skills in ETL (cloud-based solutions, SSIS, or similar), enterprise data management solutions, report writing, SQL authoring, API protocols, and requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Extensive data design and architecture experience with a focus on data warehouses, reporting, data lakes, aggregation, and integration such as BigQuery and Domo (both a must), Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, and MS SQL Server.
  • Extensive experience with GCP services a must. Other cloud services a plus.
  • BI solutions experience in Domo (a must), Tableau, Power BI, Looker Data Studio.
  • Preferred hands-on software development experience, including but not limited to JavaScript, HTML, C++/C#, CSS, PHP, and Python.
  • Extensive tag management experience, with Google GTM (a must), Adobe Launch, Tealium iQ and ObservePoint preferred.
  • Prior agency experience preferred.
  • Digital analytics experience including site taxonomy, visitor intent, segmentation, website structure, voice of customer, CRM, user behavior, and ROI optimization.
  • Omnichannel analytics in identifying the user journey to optimize marketing campaigns across social/influence, search, and content media platforms.
  • Digital platforms including Google’s DV360, CM360, and SA360 (a must). Other platforms including Invoca, Salesforce, Google Optimize, and Optimizely preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, and comfortable presenting insights to clients. This is a client-facing role.
  • Excellent project management skills in communicating, leading, and negotiating simultaneous projects on a consistent basis.
  • Consultative approach in guiding clients towards achieving their growth goals.
  • Storytelling ability to draw conclusions in communicating “what does this mean / how will this impact my client business.”
  • Ability to “speak the language” of both technical and business audiences alike.
  • Adaptable, willing to learn, and eager to share knowledge with other team members.
  • Superior ability to multitask to meet tight deadlines and operate in a fast-paced working (but fun) environment.
  • Ability to allocate time to research and recommend emerging trends.
  • Team player who is able to flourish and communicate with other team members across different offices throughout the country.
