Job Description & Responsibilities
Data analyst responsibilities include performing asset data & system lifecycle analysis. The role includes, but is not limited too, the development of business requirements (ex. business impact, change management), the suggestion of viable solutions based on requirements and participating in the design & future support of those solutions as a business SME (ex. monitoring of performance, identification of improvement opportunities).
Key Accountabilities
- Interpreting data & analyzing results using statistical techniques.
- Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize business efficiency and data quality.
- Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources to develop a single source of data for reporting.
- Developing a strong understanding of corporate initiatives at both the organizational and line of business levels.
- Identifying and defining new process opportunities.
- Challenge existing processes and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies for the business with a focus on accuracy, productivity and automation.
- Collaborate with team members both remotely and in person.
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to maximize the value of our work.
- Effectively engage with stakeholder and internal customers to manage and resolve issues.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
- Work well in a team.
Requirements
- BS in Geography, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Engineering or Statistics is preferred.
- AS in Geography, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Engineering or Statistics with work experience will be considered.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment.
- A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges on their own and as part of a team.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to recognize and implement process improvements.
- An aptitude for problem solving, with the ability to take a logical route to the source of an error
- Interest or experience leading through change
- Interest or experience in process improvement Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of electric utilities data, distribution and/or transmission.
- Proficient with ESRI ArcGIS solutions (ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, ArcServer, Utility Network, etc)
- Proficient with ESRI ArcGIS Python Library
- Proficient with Spatial ETL tools (FME, Arc ModelBuilder)
- Experience with Cloud-based technologies, specifically Azure
- Proficient in Python and/or other object-oriented programming languages
- Proficient in SQL and understanding database structure.
- Ability to clearly document and explain business processes.

$90,000 - $105,000 a year
