Job Description & Responsibilities
The Principal Healthcare Data Analyst will lead and mentor a team of analysts supporting Comagine Health’s System-wide Quality Improvement work. This is a highly collaborative position that requires excellent communication skills and competence presenting technical concepts to professionals with varying levels of data literacy. Extensive data visualization and presentation experience are a must. This position also requires somebody with the ability to adapt and pivot as the scope of work changes driven by our clients.
Purpose:
- In a professional multidisciplinary environment, the Principal Healthcare Data Analyst designs and executes the analytics for large and complex projects.
- The Principal Healthcare Data Analyst has a high level of competence and operates largely independently, with a minimum amount of oversight and demonstrating a pattern of exemplary autonomous work.
- The Principal Healthcare Data Analyst takes an active role in mentoring more junior colleagues and serves as a subject matter expert in their area of analytic expertise.
- The Principal Healthcare Data Analyst regularly collaborates with external clients and stakeholders about the planning, implementation, and progress of analytic projects.
Requirements
Education:
- MA/MS in in epidemiology, social sciences, statistics, mathematics, computer science or related field
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
Years of experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in programming (SAS, SQL, R, Python, or other languages)
Required Skills
- Subject matter expertise in focused area of analytics (data visualization, algorithms and data engineering, analytic strategy, research, measure development, care management, or other relevant field) and the ability to effectively mentor others in this field
- Expertise in the design of analytic strategies for collaborative projects and the ability to work well with external clients and stakeholders to build that strategy
- The ability to produce exemplary analytic work with a minimum amount of oversight
- Proficiency in presenting complex information in a clear and compelling format
- Knowledge of statistics or biostatistics and the appropriate application of analytic methods
- Expertise in manipulating and analyzing large datasets, including knowledge and experience with relational databases
- Advanced knowledge of the appropriate visual display of data, including competency in Tableau/Power BI or comparable applications
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in programming (SAS, SQL, R, Python, or other languages)
- Study design (preferred)
- Ability to organize, delegate and coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks in a team environment
- Ability to provide mentoring, coaching, advice, and assistance to employees as required
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
Required Experience
- 12 years of healthcare-related data analysis, research, and/or other relevant work experience
- Prior work experience in healthcare
Preferred
- 3 years of project management experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience
What we offer
As this is a fully remote position within the United States your primary residence is considered for compensation:
$100k - $130k
