Job Description & Responsibilities
Due to the growth of Standard Chartered Bank, we are looking for a seasoned professional to assume the role of First Line of defense and Finance Lead for Regulatory projects with a specialized focus on the Borrower-in-Custody (BIC) program. This position plays a pivotal role in implementing the BIC program, driving process enhancements, and ensuring compliance. As the first line of defense, you will monitor daily operations, manage risks, and collaborate across teams to ensure accurate and efficient processes. You will report to the Head of Balance Sheet Management, Americas.

Key Responsibilities:
Borrower-in-Custody (BIC) Program:
Guide the BIC program, meticulously ensuring accuracy and completeness of all related daily reporting and deliverables.
- Assess collateral eligibility for BIC, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Collaborate to identify and select pledge eligible loans.
- Prepare detailed work papers supporting all reportable information.
- Review and analyze data, addressing variances effectively.
- Facilitate seamless updates and corrections within relevant systems.
- Advocate for data integrity, overseeing control points and governance.
- Investigate and resolve root causes of data, process, and system errors.
- Maintain an up-to-date issue log, diligently tracking resolution progress.
- Swiftly escalate and handle inquiries, fostering timely resolutions.
- Stay informed about new regulatory changes impacting BIC, becoming the go-to Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Collaborate as a key partner in managing operational risk in Americas Finance, supporting country risk framework owners across business and support functions.
Requirements
Key Criteria:
- Familiarity with Borrower-in-Custody (BIC) Collateral Program Regulatory Reporting, Operational Risk Management, Financial Controls and Data Management.
- 4+ years of experience in lending related processes, practices, and related roles within the financial industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Essential Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking products (especially lending), systems, and data flow.
- Proven project management expertise, with a history of successful project implementation.
- Experience applying regulatory requirements and a thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills both individually and as part of a team.
- Advanced communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Assets:
- Experience in banking regulations (e.g., Regulation W (Series 23A and 23B))
- Knowledge of financial industry regulations and standards.
- Accounting or finance background
What we offer
Expected annual base pay range for the role is $101,421 to $152,131. The final offer will be determined on an individualized basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
