Job Description & Responsibilities
This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.
Job Summary
The Lead Data Analyst will develop and deliver data analytics, metrics and reporting products and strategy for Operations. This role will work closely with business partners within various divisions of operations and Process Excellence team to help bring insights to the business by leading a team of analysts in creating reporting products using Tableau, Business Objects and other business intelligence tools. It is essential to have strong working knowledge of financial services and current bank infrastructure. This role will also help mentor data analysts in building data marts necessary to prepare the components of products being delivered.
Major Responsibilities
- Create new data analytics including the analysis of metrics and risk assessment results, where needed
- Identify opportunities to automate processes for compliance monitoring tool optimization and efficiencies Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports
- Work with management team to create a prioritized list of needs for each business segment
- Identify and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining business processes
- Use data to create models
- Work with department managers to outline the specific data needs for each business method analysis project
- Work with application developers to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual data models
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
- 6-8 years' work experience with quantitative analysis
- Strong financial industry experience
- Advanced SQL and data integration skills using SSIS and other equivalent tools.
- Expert knowledge in all business processes across an entire line of business, as well expertise in other lines of business and technology disciplines
- Strong understanding of waterfall and agile methods, stakeholder management, budget management, risk management, and operations
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Hands on project and program management experience; track record of project go live implementations
- Work with application developers to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual data models
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Proven facilitation and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Perform day-to-day operational support; may mentor other analysts
- Handle multiple simultaneous data and reporting projects
- Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions
Nice-To-Have
- Experience with Cognos and Tableau and their respective consumption of data is preferred
- Use of other data modeling tools will be considered with the core skill set: Python (descriptive / predictive models), and Tableau Viz
- Streamline and automate processes to ensure data lineage, consistency, integrity, and transparency
- Participate in the design and delivery of solutions that support the fundamental data and governance process
- Technology infrastructure or application development experience
- Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data model
What we offer
The typical base pay range for this role is between $120K - $150K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
