Job Description & Responsibilities
At Skupos, data is everything. Our data integrates the complex, fragmented world of mom-and-pop corner with the glitzy, gigantic world of CPG conglomerates. We're looking for a data analyst to dig into our retail purchase data to support our CPG customers and drive decision making. We need someone who can transform data into action.
Your role will have wide-ranging responsibilities focused on creating valuable insights for our enterprise (CPG) customers and driving profitable growth for our business. You will be partnering with our Enterprise teams to provide data-driven insights on promotion, distribution, and pricing solutions for our CPG customers. You will be a thought-leader to our Sales & Client Management teams on how to translate a brand's strategy into clear success criteria by identifying, measuring and analyzing its performance as well as designing and recommending innovative fact-based solutions that deliver value to our customers.
Team. The team and our people:
This role will be part of the BI and Analytics team, a cross-functional group that supports data and decision-making needs for every other function at Skupos and tackles different data challenges across the company.
Responsibilities.
- Investigate and generate dashboards / reports to summarize complex raw data
- Identify key success metrics from our raw data, determine the best process to get the data, and analyze performance to report key insights and promotion success to Brands
- Analyze detailed transactional data to develop profitable growth recommendations for Skupos CPG brand customers and prospects (e.g., market share growth, promotion effectiveness, pricing compliance, shopper insights)
- Work closely with Enterprise Sales and Enterprise Client Management to develop scalable tools and processes for communicating value to customers and prospects
- Build creative and compelling visualizations that can be used to bring insights to life
- Track data quality of various sources
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Business or a related field
- 1 - 2+ years of experience (or equivalent course work) working with SQL
- 2+ years of experience (or equivalent course work) working with data and analytics
- Recent experience with a modern data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) or an understanding of their capabilities
- Experience with data warehousing architecture and understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices (e.g., normalization/denormalization)
- Experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Mode, Looker)
- Data QA experience
- Highly skilled in Excel, Word, and other word processing software programs
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a high growth and rapidly changing startup environment
- Client facing communication skills to explain complex concepts and the ability to explain technical ideas / analysis to a non technical audience
Nice to Have:
- 1+ years of operational responsibility for ELT systems or data pipelines
- Experience using dbt to automate analytical transformations
- Expertise in the CPG industry, with understanding of how brands leverage data to inform pricing, promotion, and distribution decisions
What we offer
Salary range in Denver, CO: $65,000 - $75,000
