Job Description & Responsibilities
In the Technology Strategy, Planning and Risk team, our mission is to optimize our investment, deliver incremental revenue, unlock cost savings and increased flexibility within the department. We analyze tech processes in order to identify inefficiencies and implement changes. We lead the technology strategy and own related tech driven projects, planning and insight; carrying out in-depth analysis on our divisions to drive commercial value throughout the department in order to provide recommendations and increase financial understanding, resulting in reduced cost and/or improving efficiency within tech.
THE JOB
Ticketmaster’s Technology Division is looking for a highly resourceful team player to bring their knowledge of analytical solutions and the drive to use data to solve real world business problems to join the Technology Strategy, Planning and Risk team as a Data Analyst.
The Data Analyst will play a key role by capturing, processing, and transforming multiple datasets into actionable analytical products and solutions. They’ll partner closely with key stakeholders across the Technology division to define reporting needs, identify the source of required data and build and maintain the tools and dashboards that will support critical business needs on an ongoing basis.
This role will also act as a collaborator on key Tech initiatives by understanding the evolving data landscape of the organization and the defining/executing against data and reporting requirements in support of specific business requirements and outcomes.
The Data Analyst will also be a key contributor to key improvement initiatives within specific Tech teams by collaborating with cross-functional members of the Tech org to deliver operational enhancements to crucial data-related processes.
What You Will Be Doing
Data Collection, Processing & Reporting
- Identify data and reporting needs to support the development of a data and analytics roadmap for the Tech Strategy team
- Partner with various cross-functional members of the Tech org to understand data and reporting needs and translate those needs into tools to enable actionable improvements to key processes
- Own the creation, updating and continuous improvement of critical internal reports and dashboards for key Tech stakeholders
Data Analysis
- Understand the evolving data landscape with the Tech team and Ticketmaster more broadly to help inform tooling best practices and continuous improvement
- Assist in exploratory analysis to support key Tech initiatives and programs
- Show initiative to solve business problems using modern data analysis techniques
Data Interpretation and Modelling
- Support on tech driven projects and/or technology transformation initiatives requiring analysis. Tech projects such as platform modernization strategy, tech resourcing, outsourcing solutions, market tech environment analysis, tech solutions for new market or how to best organize our teams.
- Support the wider technology teams with commercial value and guidance, bringing substance into the decision-making process.
- Support in the annual budget and quarterly tech planning process; create international Tech summaries to show trends and highlight the key decisions, investments and challenges across tech.
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
- 2+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or within a similar role
- Knowledge of SQL syntax including experience query coding and debugging queries for accurate results
- Experience with analytical techniques and the ability to apply them to business solutions
- Experience programmatically retrieving data via API and automating data pipelines
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitive fields such as economics, engineering, mathematics, or statistics is a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Domo or Tableau preferred
- Experience with Databricks preferred
- Experience in working with unstructured data spanning multiple disparate sources preferred
- Experience with cost management for Cloud, Infrastructure, Software, and other IT domains preferred

- Experience in Technology, Ticketing or Ecommerce company is beneficial
- Analytical paired with strong execution – ability to workout collaborative solutions for challenges, problems and capacity restrains within the technology department with the ability to influence the work needed to get there.
