Job Description & Responsibilities
Siemens Mobility Inc is seeking to fill a Reliability Data Analyst in our engaging railroad environment located in New Castle, Delaware. This job involves providing direct support in fleet monitoring and maintenance planning for the different Siemens electrical and diesel-powered locomotives, as well as our numerous light rail vehicles and streetcars. The Reliability Data Analyst also provides technical oversight to our contractual depots, and administrative services to our Reliability and Service Managers.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Maximize fleet performance by analyzing data to help prevent in-service failures and to provide trend analysis to aid fleet reliability improvement measures.
- Evaluate data for historic failures and establish trend analysis to support material, logistic and maintenance planning.
- Measure and track performance against agreed upon reliability targets.
- Support failure investigations and the completion of Root Cause Analysis reports.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to the Field Service maintenance teams.
- Drive material availability by analyzing material usage and shortage.
- Support for driving reliability and continuous improvement to minimize down time, and costs.
- Evaluate Reliability Data and identify systems that are repeatedly failing.
- Monitor trends with aim of identifying and advancing potential service affecting failures.
- Identify improvement opportunities to the performance team.
- Produce accurate and timely reporting for both internal and external client requests.
- Ensure data quality by identifying areas of concern and addressing.
- Build, review, update and analyze internal performance databases.
- Monitor and document progress of fleet campaigns and modifications.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or other related degree involving data analytics. In lieu of bachelor’s degree a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of successful experience in data analytics.
- Demonstrable core proficiencies in communications, listening, and organizational skills.
- Ability to quickly learn internal databases / systems.
- Ability to build and maintain databases, tables and queries.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of statistical tools, (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI).
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work systematically and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel: 10% domestically.
- Setting you apart from others would be a background or formal training in Quality tools (e.g. six sigma) and the ability to apply standardization of processes to maximize consistency of output and increase efficiency. The ability to understand technical information and Python programming experience would be a plus.

The base salary range for this position in New Castle, DE is $66,100-$89,000. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
