Data Analyst, People job description

The People Data Analyst develops reports, tools, and dashboards to enable the business to make better data-driven decisions. The People Data Analyst manages, maintains, and advises on HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency in system use.

This role partners with HR leaders within the team to improve processes, automate tasks, and enhance efficiency in the People Operations Team. Additionally, the People Data Analyst supports the People Operations team by ensuring system accuracy, reliability, and the creation of streamlined processes to enhance team efficiency.

What Your Success Will Look Like

Analytics reporting and tool development

  • Prepare and build custom reports for members of HR and other company departments using systems such as ADP, Lattice, Greenhouse, and PowerBI.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and provide data-driven predictive insights and recommendations to People and Talent Advisors on various people-related issues (e.g., employee engagement, exit surveys) to identify patterns and trends and track goals against benchmarks.
  • Develop and present People dashboards to monitor workforce trends, including headcount, turnover, retention, diversity and inclusion, talent development, business continuity, succession planning, and more, to identify opportunities for improving organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of People data available across the company to extract information from all systems and consolidate it into meaningful metrics, reports, and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Perform advanced and complex reporting and analysis of People data and cross-functional information.
  • Utilize People data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support the organization in making evidence-based decisions.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support decision-making in HR and overall business strategy.
  • Become an authority on all HR systems report writing tools.

HRIS Management, Maintenance, and Advisory

  • Collaborate with the People Operations team to conduct maintenance and audits on all HR systems (e.g., ADP, Greenhouse, Lattice) to ensure proper integration and system integrity. Identify data anomalies so the team can address them immediately.
  • Support projects involving HRIS upgrades or changes, partnering with IT, Payroll, and other affected departments.
  • Partner with Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and the rest of the People Operations team to ensure accurate data flow.
  • Complete HRIS transactions as needed (e.g., employee changes, onboarding, terminations).
  • Work closely with Data Engineering to set up integrations and manage data through our Azure data lakehouse.

HR operation process improvement

  • Design user-friendly processes, guidelines, and documentation using tools like Monday.com and Google Sheets.
  • Work across the team to build and implement more efficient processes for handling employee changes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the HRIS marketplace and HR operations industry to implement best-in-class solutions.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Who You Are And What You Bring

  • Dashboard and report building in PowerBI, Tableau, or other BI tools experience
  • Project management expertise with Monday.com or other platforms
  • Highly analytical and organized individual
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • HRIS data administration experience (Preferred: ADP Workforce Now)
  • Experience with HCM implementations, testing of upgrades, patches, and new applications to test new and existing functionality
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the HR function & processes

Compensation

  • The base salary range is $75,000 (entry-level) - $85,000 (highly experienced), exclusive of fringe benefits. If you are hired at Scorpion, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the total salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses or commissions.
