Job Description & Responsibilities
As an analytics professional, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills to support a mission and use data for good. We need a data analyst like you to bring your knowledge to bring cutting-edge resources to our soldiers.
As a client-facing data analyst on our Army team, you’ll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to help find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you extract and evaluate their data, but you’ll also help your client interpret the information and recommend how it can be used to make an impact on readiness and soldier well-being.
How You’ll Contribute:
As a data analyst on our team, you’ll:
- Use your technical knowledge to support client and stakeholder relationships at Army Commands.
- Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through the collection, interpretation, evaluation, and analysis of large data sets.
- Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.
- Apply your skills and analytical mindset by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.
- Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, and scripting languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
- Apply data visualization through different formats such as graphs, tables, and PowerPoint slides.
- Grow your communication and technical skills by merging consulting and big data to create data-centric solutions across the Army Mission.

Requirements
You Have:
- Experience with coding in R or Python
- Experience with ETL and EDA processes to answer questions and solve problems
- Experience visualizing data to identify or communicate key insights
- Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, or optimization algorithms
- Knowledge of basic concepts in mathematics and statistics
- Ability to communicate complex analytical insights to non-technical audiences
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with R Shiny, Flask, HTML, and UI and UX-centric development
- Experience with database development and architecture design
- Experience defining data governance and management requirements
- Experience with version control management using the Git framework
- Experience deploying solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI
- Experience mentoring junior staff or leading teams
- Experience supporting Army or DoD clients
- Secret clearance
- Master's degree in Data Science, CS, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or Statistics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $45,400.00 to $93,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
