Data Analyst, Internal Audit job description

This is a Hybrid position based out of our Headquarters location in Lancaster, PA. Must have ability to be onsite 3 days per week.

Execute an effective data analytics program within Internal Audit that delivers consistent, value-add results through the use of data analytics tools and innovative techniques. Provide analytical information to support internal audits, continuous auditing and monitoring, and special projects. Will analyze and evaluate data analytic processes and capabilities, identify opportunities to utilize analytics to drive a more effective and efficient audit process, and consult with audit teams, management, and IT to implement solutions.

  • Work with Internal Audit personnel to identify data mining and analysis needs, and specific output requirements. Assess the needs/ requirements and execute against those with most appropriate source for data, tool for analyzing, and output format that best matches the needs.
  • Source, compile, convert, organize and transfer data from various sources using ACL and other tools.
  • Engage IT and other internal stakeholders to understand data architecture, methodology and tools, gain appropriate access to required data, and source new data.
  • Design and automate internal control audit testing using data analytics. Perform data quality checks, including completeness and accuracy.
  • Collect and analyze large datasets from various sources to identify patterns, trends, and relationships. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators.
  • Use statistical techniques and data visualization tools to present findings in a clear and meaningful way to stakeholders. Conduct ad hoc analysis and research to address specific business questions or challenges.
  • Develop and execute continuous auditing and monitoring procedures to proactively monitor and report on risks, exposures, internal controls and key performance indicators across various areas of the company.
  • Promote the use of data analytics and related tools to internal audit staff, identify and communicate opportunities for technology-based enhancements. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analysis.
  • Network with other analysts both within the bank and peer groups outside of the bank to bring best practices to the department.
Data Analyst, Internal Audit job requirements

Education

Bachelor Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty Business, Accounting, Information Systems or other applicable. (Required)

Experience

4 or more years Data analysis in support of Audit, Accounting or other applicable. (Required)

2 or more years Audit, including knowledge of Audit Command Language (ACL). (Preferred)

Preferred Certifications

2 or more years Banking. (Preferred)

Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

ACL Certified Data Analyst (ACDA)

SQL Reporting Services Certification

This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager.
