Job Description & Responsibilities
This is the opportunity to get in early with a stealth-mode health & wellness project currently incubating in Walmart's Store No.8. At Store No.8, the team will discover and deliver the insights that will power the future of healthcare for our customers, through the unparalleled scale of Walmart's platform. In this role, you will lead the development and launch of innovative products that sit at the intersection of Health & Wellness, Data Science and Retail Experiences. You will work closely with the core Store No8 team, and our partners within Walmart Global Tech and the Walmart Health & Wellness business.
As the Senior Data Analyst, your focus will be on the analysis and processing of large data sets to uncover insights to drive healthcare innovation. Reporting to this team's data platform product lead, you will partner with our data engineering, data science, and product teams. You will need to be a self-starter with a bias for action and excellent communication skills.
What You'll Do
- Have a significant opportunity to help transform healthcare by prototyping next-generation data products in the health and wellness space that will reach millions of individuals
- Help drive the evaluation of business intelligence platforms to determine the one that best meets the team's requirements
- Build jaw dropping dashboards that provide actionable insights to end users
- Research and recommend third party tools with a focus on data quality, data lineage and documentation to support the data platform as a product
- Analyze complex data elements and develop summaries and extracts that are easily digestible to help the team make the best decisions
- Effectively communicate analytic findings to business stakeholders, data scientists, product managers, and others through understandable documentation and presentations
- Perform user acceptance testing on new data sets
Requirements
What You'll Need
- Healthcare data experience: Demonstrated background in using healthcare data in a project setting. Relevant data types include insurance claims data (diagnoses, procedures, physician/hospital data) or electronic health records (structured data like lab results and problem lists)
- 5+ years' experience in health data analytics working directly with large claims and EHR data sets
- Expertise writing complex SQL queries to surface insights from vast amounts of data
- Customer service mindset demonstrated though attention to detail and anticipating the needs of the end user
- Business intelligence platform development experience in tools such as Tableau, Mode Analytics, Domo, Looker and/or Power BI
- Experience with data visualization and data-based storytelling
A plus if you also have
- Expertise with Tableau, R, and/or Python
- Experience with BigQuery or Snowflake
- Experience working with data from Salesforce, Braze
- Experience with OMOP, FHIR, HL7 and other interoperability standards and data models
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment, including balancing multiple projects and dealing with ambiguity
Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field
- Option 2: Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics or related field
- Option 3: 10 years' experience in an analytics or related field

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
The annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
