Data Analyst job description

SumUp is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our US office located in Boulder, CO. As the ideal candidate for this role, you have a diverse range of analytical skills and are comfortable working with various data sources and analytical tools. You will have ample opportunities to expand your knowledge and expertise in different areas of the business as the role involves collaborating with multiple business domains and stakeholders such as sales, operations and finance among others. This high visibility position offers you the opportunity to work closely with leaders across SumUp and play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and performance of the company.

This is an in-office role in Boulder, CO.

What you’ll do:

  • Collect, analyze and interpret large datasets using statistical analysis
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to identify and solve business problems using a data-driven approach
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and guide them through the process of defining and refining their requests
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders and monitor business processes and performance
  • Maintain and optimize existing models while ensuring adherence to SumUp's data strategy
  • Manage multiple and often competing tasks and priorities that may require frequent reprioritization based on changing business needs
  • Evangelize a data-driven culture across the organization
Data Analyst job requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. statistics, mathematics, computer science) or equivalent working experience
  • SQL expertise (Snowflake preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred)
  • Experience transforming, modeling and testing large datasets
  • Experience using DBT Core and GitHub

Bonus Points if you have experience with any of the following:

  • Working with Sales teams
  • Working in the financial technology industry
  • Working with data from Salesforce
