POSITION: Data Analyst DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: COO STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time, Remote

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the COO and in collaboration with department leads, the Data Analyst will use data to improve processes using proven business process methodologies. The Data Analyst will create reports to generate monthly statistics, profitability analyses, performance metrics and compliance reports using applications such as Epic, ArcGIS, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Microsoft SQL, and Crystal Reports. Additionally, the Data Analyst will serve as an enthusiastic partner in launching and sustaining new business initiatives and ongoing business intelligence work. Through these efforts, the Data Analyst will support and promote a team-based, customer-focused, results‑oriented service model that achieves business, operational, clinical, and financial goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and deploy custom business intelligence solutions that enable leaders and key business users to link operational performance data to outcomes; prepare high-value, professionally written and oral presentations of key data and analyses
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of reports and data analyses. Respond to recurring data requests and special project needs
- Interpret and draw conclusions for business development teams in order to guide business decisions
- Use data to identify trends and predict outcomes of future state
- Seek data-informed routes toward operational improvements and business growth
- Coordinate data system integration across the affiliate; where possible, facilitate cross-disciplinary applied use of data: e.g., Board, Senior Team, Finance, Development, Media, and Marketing
- Collaborate on the planning, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation of health services to maximize cost-effectiveness, revenue, and customer service
- Collaborate on the launch of new business operations initiatives/projects; support training, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation efforts
- Coordinate with other departments to develop and maintain a data reporting methodology, definitions and standards handbook that captures all data definitions as they relate to business intelligence
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Passionate commitment to PPSWO’s mission and values related to health equity, especially centering on racial equity, and a deep sense of accountability to community. Demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and care delivery.
Demonstrated ability to be responsive to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple complex initiatives. Strong attention to detail. Must submit reports to internal and external customers in a timely manner.
Excellent relationship building and communication skills, including a high level of self-awareness, empathy, and humility in interpersonal interactions.
- Sound background in statistics and ability to communicate results to others who can make business decisions are critical
- At least 2 years of Epic reporting experience is required: Extracting data, creating reports and dashboards. May be expected to train staff how to access reports/dashboards
- At least 1 year of ArcGIS experience is required
- Experience with research projects and CITI training is a plus
- Experience with Tableau and Crystal reporting is a plus
- Must possess an ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Must be a self-starter in identifying potential problems and conducting root-cause analysis. Be independently motivated to meet project management goals and objectives
- Occasional travel required throughout our service area
- A demonstrated ability to work and build trust across cultural differences as well as to effectively communicate across differences related to race, class, age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or ability
- Proven collaborative skills including teambuilding, explaining complex analysis, motivation and clearly communicated goals
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, business or related field. Certification in a business process methodology such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc., desired
- Able to speak and write English
- Expertise using Epic and Microsoft Office products is required
- Ability to communicate professionally with individuals of diverse backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to get to the work site; also other PPSWO health centers and meetings when required

Salary: 62k -70k
