Data Analyst, Enterprise AI job description

Your role is Business Data Analyst for the new suite of AI-powered developer services for use by a diverse population of software engineers and programmers all around the world. You will support an agile technical team, facilitating insights for how we manage engagement and ongoing community use with our technology offerings, and you will measure your success through the clarity and insights your work brings to the successful leadership and representation of the overall program. In collaboration with HP’s developer community you are a key member of the team focused on world-wide software development practices, maintaining HP’s legacy of quality while helping drive ever more competitive end-customer solutions to market at an industry-leading pace.

The Business Data Analyst candidate we are seeking is ready to apply data aggregation, analysis, summarization, and reporting knowledge and creativity to resolve complex logistical issues within our program’s established guidelines and to comprehensibly describe and recommend appropriate alternatives based on your careful analysis. Sought candidates are hungry to tackle enterprise-scale software community analytics challenges of diverse complexity and scope. Top candidates will have experience in an enterprise context, supporting programs involving diverse technical communities, will have shown prior savvy as the curator of key program data feeds, analysis and reporting, and will be comfortable defining and/or creating data analysis solutions in order to address emerging needs.

As a Business Data Analyst you will apply subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines, and you will recommend appropriate alternatives. You will work on problems of diverse complexity and scope. You may act as a team lead providing direction to team activities and facilitate information validation and team decision making. You will exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.

Responsibilities

  • Participates as a member of team of other technology professionals carrying out the investigation, design, development, execution, and implementation of data aggregation and summarization projects to generate new business insights and inform technical program direction.
  • Creates plans, data collection and analysis procedures, and data insight visualizations for assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to perform experiments and validations in accordance with overall plan.
  • Collaborates with SMEs to develop procedures for collecting, recording, analyzing, and communicating data for review and feedback.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

  • Using technical design and data collection and aggregation methodologies, tools and analysis packages to collect, validate, and analyze technical and operational data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Application and implementation of data-processing and summarization designs, procedures and processes, and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate analysis plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at management levels.

Scope & Impact

  • Collaborates with peers, junior data scientists and engineers, SMEs and external and internal research and product development partners.
  • Typically interacts with high-level Individual Contributors, Managers and Program Core Teams.
  • Participates in projects requiring data science engineering.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent technology domain.
  • Typically 4-6 years’ experience.
