Job Description & Responsibilities
The Global Litigation & Compliance Organization has an exciting position for a mid-level Data Analyst to join a multi-disciplinary group that works collaboratively within Legal and jointly with the Information Security, Business Unit, and Corporate Services teams to conduct a wide range of business intelligence, visualization, and investigation support functions.
This team is responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining regular, ad-hoc and automated reports, dashboards, presentations, and analysis to provide insights into the company’s overall risk profile and effect governance based upon data.
This position requires strong visualization & design skills, analytic capabilities, technical prowess, communication skills, and creativity.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Responsibilities for this position include data wrangling, exploration, analysis, representation, and visualization. This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining group presentations, department SharePoint sites and dashboards supporting the different teams and strategic initiatives. IT experience will be required to access and support disparate IT systems and assist legal personnel on a variety of technical issues.
This role requires the ability to gather reporting requirements, manage stakeholders, design & develop visuals, and analyze diverse data sources. The resulting analytics and visualizations will be used by executive-level decision makers to gain actionable insights.
Specific Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain metrics, presentations, reports, analyses, and dashboards that will be used to drive key business decisions, strategy, policy, and investigations.
- Data wrangling including data discovery, data mining, data structuring, cleaning, enriching, and validating.
- Data exploration to identify statistical relationships, trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Organize and transform data into comprehensible, usable, and actionable information.
- Develop visualizations to explain risks and showcase key data insights for stakeholders.
- Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality of data sources and derived information.
- Elicit reporting and analysis requirements from the Legal Team and deliver solutions.
- Build data analytics algorithms and dashboards to identify events and users that may be indicative of policy non-compliance, fraud, privacy, or IP risk.
- Build solutions by partnering with key stakeholders, including the IT, Information Security, Big Data and Enterprise Process Solutions teams.
- Develop and design presentations—primarily in PowerPoint—that advance key business objectives and tell the story through clean, concise, and well-organized slides.
- Distill clear messaging from the data and utilize smart visuals to effectively deliver insights to C-Suite executives allowing them to make informed business decisions.
- Develop and maintain customized templates and graphics to project a professional, consistent “look and feel” for the department.
- Educate and train the users on the supported sites, dashboards, and reports.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technology-related field from an accredited university
- Excellent data visualization skills and advanced PowerPoint presentation development skills
- Must have strong User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design experience.
- Solid working experience with SharePoint and Web development
- Experience with Tableau and Tableau Prep
- Professional use of SQL, Hadoop, Hue, Hive, Impala or SAP ERP
- Basic programming skills in one of the following: Python, R, JavaScript, or SQL
- Strong attention to detail, passion for data accuracy, and high personal integrity
- Ability to perform statistical analysis of data
- Working knowledge of web development tools – e.g., XML, Java, JavaScript, and HTML
Excellent communication skills:
Clearly articulate and visually present complex data relationships and analysis results.
Create concise diagrams, charts, and reports to communicate the findings to the target audience.
Implement and document workflows & processes.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a global team.
Capable of gaining the trust of legal and business stakeholders to achieve the desired objective.
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Open-Source data analysis tools
- Project management experience
What we offer
U.S. Salary Range:
$88,000.00 - $121,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
