Job Description & Responsibilities
Using advanced skills in data analytics, the Data Analyst supports CommuniCares administrative reporting needs and quality management goals related to improving the health of the patient population. The Data Analyst works in collaboration with clinical and other staff as well as the Data Programmer to develop computer programs that examine health related, primary care outpatient data to f ulfill reporting needs across departments. CommuniCare Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing comprehensive patient-centered primary care services including medical, dental, substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, and outreach services to the low income, multi-ethnic, uninsured and underinsured in the communities we serve.
SCHEDULE : 40 hours per week, primarily Monday Friday. This is not a remote position. Will be in office at our Administration Office located in Davis, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Acquire, abstract, and analyze primary and secondary data from existing internal and external data sources for projects and reports.
- Produce annual and ad hoc reports and develop dashboards, reports and/or documentation of clinical and operational measures for dissemination and publication.
- Provide data support and facilitation across the organization and participate with quality improvement teams to monitor progress towards goals.
- Routinely validate data and coordinate data cleaning efforts as needed.
- Interpret data from queries used to investigate and quantify quality gaps and present data to end users in health care setting.
- Assist in supplying and applying data analytics and presentation to clinical operations to accomplish population health quality goals and to support programs such as chronic disease management programs, quality improvement programs, etc. to reach CommuniCare quality goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with at least two years of experience working with data analytics, informatics, data management, preferably working with health data. Experience using Python and Tableau is a must. Working with a team and delivering data summaries and reports necessary for planning and improvement of processes. Experience in collecting, editing, analyzing and charting numerical data. Intermediate proficiency in deciphering, editing, and writing SQL programs that extract data from SQL Server/PostgreSQL database tables. Advanced computer skills including experience using Excel Pivot tables, SQL, and database software are essential. Excellent computer skills, particularly using software in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook also required.
Expectations:
Expected to have effective and flexible written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills, demonstrating fluency in English. Adept at queries and report writing as well as presenting complex data in meaningful and easily digestible graphic, tabular and narrative formats. Attention to completeness, accuracy, and detail. Ability to think critically and use independent judgment. Creativity and vision to organize data in meaningful presentation formats to deliver key messages. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability, organize multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines. Ability to manage several projects concurrently and adapt to changes in project requirements and/or the work environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Ability to communicate and work effectively with employees, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders. Awareness of the needs of medically underserved populations, demonstrated cultural competence and interest in learning about community-based primary health care systems.

Ability to operate office equipment, including computer equipment. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, with occasional walking. Requires a moderate level of mobility, dexterity, and flexibility in order to perform essential functions. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach with hands and arms, and to lift 25 lbs. Hearing and close vision abilities required. Work is performed in a typical office environment with moderate equipment noise. Regular travel to all agency sites required. COMPLETE COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIRED
What we offer
SALARY:
- The pay range for this position is $79,000-$ 133,700 annually. Starting pay within this range will vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- May be eligible for annual 2% - 0-2% merit-based pay adjustment (0-4%)
