Job Description & Responsibilities
The Data Analyst and Report Developer Manager will provide insightful analysis, recommendations, and reports to management, team members, and compliance stakeholders by comprehensively grasping Momentus’ intricate array of lending programs and corporate financials. Moreover, the Data Analyst and Report Developer Manager will advance our reporting capabilities to meet the expanding internal and external requirements. This position will involve acquiring knowledge, assisting and managing the production of over 50 Power BI reports. This role will manage at least (1) direct report.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing projects and analysis to successfully deliver comprehensive analysis and reports to management, team members, and compliance stakeholders, demonstrating a profound understanding of Momentus’ intricate lending programs, Ventures platform, on and off-balance sheet lending portfolios, and associated data.
- Provide guidance and support for completeness and accuracy or reports and analysis with direct reports and internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for driving the development and enhancement of our reporting capabilities to accommodate our expanding internal and external requirements
- In charge of coordinating with other departments as necessary to facilitate the production of required reporting content.
- Guide and advise team on to proficiently navigate system technology to grasp its functionalities and current utilization, while also learning to generate data extracts for reporting purposes.
- Manage the team and assist with developing analytical tools to assess and model various segments of the loan portfolio, understanding the implications of loan sales on our balance sheet and income statement, and effectively communicate findings or recommendations.
- Ensure that the team actively engages in Enterprise Data Management Reporting meetings to contribute insights and updates.
- Explore opportunities for the team to integrate internal and external data sources for enhanced reporting and analysis.
- Lead process automation initiatives, transitioning manual processes into fully automated solutions.
- Assist the team in Quality Control and Assurance efforts to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Take a leadership role in crafting Data Visualizations to enhance data comprehension.
- Manage team to be able to contribute to the creation of reports and data catalogs to streamline information access and utilization.
- Lead a team of data analysts to deliver comprehensive analysis and reports to various stakeholders, including management, team members, and compliance officers.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data analytics and management, and incorporate relevant insights into team operations and strategies.
- Represent the data analytics team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives, advocating for the team's needs and priorities.
- Serve as a liaison between senior management and the data analytics team, effectively communicating updates, challenges, and successes.
Requirements
Professional Skills, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., data science, statistics, computer science) required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of (7) seven years' experience in a financial institution setting.
- Advanced skills in creating reports and data visualizations in various Report Tools and technologies, specifically Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R and Ability to learn lending platforms
- Experience with QA/QC testing and working on projects with ambiguous specifications.
- Ability to work on projects that are not fully defined and still have some ambiguity in the specifications.
- Understanding of relational data file structures, Salesforce data structure, and G-Suite tools
- Thorough understanding of SQL so that the applicant can write SQL code against our existing data warehouse structure in Microsoft Power BI rather than relying on predetermined SQL connection
- Deep understanding of lending, loan data, and the lending business is essential, along with a strong appreciation for the significance of data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated expertise in analyzing data and metrics, with the ability to identify potential issues.
- Proven track record of effectively leading and managing a team of data analysts, including performance management and development
- Strong leadership qualities, including integrity, resilience, and a passion for driving results.
- Strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and excels as a natural problem solver, demonstrating the initiative to independently research issues and translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Driven by a passion for enhancing systems, lead process automation initiatives to achieve continuous improvement and teach business line users in self-service of product tools.
