Data Analyst job description

In this partially remote role, you'll have the exciting opportunity to harness the power of data to drive strategic insights and facilitate informed decision-making across various departments within our organization. As a Data Analyst at Clark National Accounts, you'll not only build sustainable data models and construct compelling reports, but also translate your findings into actionable recommendations that propel our company forward. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in the financial aspects of our operations, including quoting and pricing strategies, ensuring our offerings are competitive and profitable.

KEY ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Explorer: Dive deep into complex datasets to uncover meaningful patterns and trends that drive business growth and innovation.
  • Insight Generator: Transform raw data into digestible reports, actionable insights, and compelling visualizations that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions.
  • Strategic Collaborator: Partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify key business questions and develop data-driven solutions that address critical challenges.
  • Continuous Learner: Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in data analytics, continuously refining your skills to drive excellence in our data-driven culture.
  • Financial Strategist: Develop and refine pricing and quoting models to support our sales team and ensure competitive positioning in the market.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design visually appealing and informative charts, graphs, and dashboards to present analysis results.
  • Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to track key performance metrics and support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports to summarize key findings, trends, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data analysis projects.
  • Work independently or with management and stakeholders to craft sustainable pricing programs for both prospective and existing clients.
  • Develop and maintain quoting tools and processes to ensure accurate and timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support business initiatives and strategic decision-making.
  • Document data analysis methodologies, findings, and standard operating procedures for internal knowledge sharing.
Data Analyst job requirements

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, and/or R for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create compelling visuals.
  • Experience in finance, pricing strategies, or quoting processes is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • A keen eye for intuitive report design and functional utility.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data modeling to construct lean and sustainable reporting.
  • Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to a wide-variety of audiences.
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of analysis.
  • Problem solving skills to address complex data-related challenges.
  • Collaboration and teamwork abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Curiosity and a proactive attitude towards exploring data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Familiarity with business processes and objectives to align data analysis efforts with organizational goals.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies and financial analysis.
