Job Description & Responsibilities
- Serve as a data analyst to the Center of Surgical and Transplant Applied Research (C-Star), using a range of data sources including: Electronic health records (NYU Epic); Community-based health and demographic surveys; Project-specific surveys and assessments;Administrative records (births, education, Medicaid claims); Other novel data sources•Contribute original thoughts,hypotheses, and analysis to write reports, abstracts and manuscripts under faculty supervision
- Support grant proposal submissions and support funder reports for NIH funded•Liaise with senior researchers at other institutions to conduct analyses on behalf of national scientific committees
- Prepare interim reports to summarize ongoing cohort studies for principal investigators, study staff, and data safety and monitoring boards
- Under faculty supervision, design analytical strategies for research proposals and draft statistical analysis plans for grants
- Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- To qualify you must have a Previous experience with qualitative research methods and analytical software (preferred NViVo).
- Masters Degree, 1 year or more of experience conducting qualitative research.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience conducting interviews and moderating focus groups.
- Experience developing and executing research protocols.
- Experience with academic writing for publication and grant application purposes.
- Ability to critically analyze and present research studies to scientific audiences, including transplant professionals.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem solving, and writing skills. Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
- Strong time management and ability to manage a remote work environment and work with a hybrid team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Performs in person and over the phone participant recruitment
- Performs data collection over the phone, by email or in dialysis centers, in-patient, and out-patient settings (or other clinical settings).
- Performs in person and over the phone follow-up of participant who are enrolled in clinical trials and cohort studies.
- Conducts chart abstractions to ascertain clinical data
- Administers behavioral, exercise and other interventions in clinical settings.
- Reports enrollment, follow-up and retention rates for clinical trials and cohort studies.
- Prepares and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical trials and cohort studies.
- Performs blood processing and storage.
- After a period of time working with the research team, the candidate will be expected to train newly hired Research Associates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in the study design, data collection, blood processing technique, and other aspects of the research.
What we offer
NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00-$85,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
