Data Analyst job description

The Bestow Analytics team is highly visible and dedicated, working across the entire company to create data solutions that serve both our external partners and our internal stakeholders. The team works cross-functionally using cloud technology to provide curated data products, BI solutions, and high-value deliverables. As a data analytics professional, you will span engineering and insights to improve automation and decision-making for our partners and internal stakeholders.

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join the team

This role reports to our Manager of Analytics, and we are open to a remote employee (in the Continuous US 48)

About The Role

  • Passionate about solving problems with data and continuously delivers valuable and positive results.
  • Use SQL, dbt, CI/CD, Ggithub, and Google Cloud to automate data transformation pipelines that flow to our various enterprise partners .
  • We use Data Visualization tools (such as Tableau) to create intuitive data products, allowing our enterprise partners to better understand their business and trust their data.
  • Strong communicator; not afraid to contribute during meetings with stakeholders and engineering teammates; asks clarifying questions to better understand business requirements and opportunities.
  • Build subject matter expertise within the insurance domain to better anticipate partners’ needs.
  • Improve data quality through innovation and governance.
  • Able to collaborate with other data analysts and engineers, sharing work and cross-training others.
  • Maintain positivity and respect for the individual and encourage the growth and development of team members.
  • Strong SQL (eg: BigQuery) skills and ability to perform complex, effective, and efficient querying to extract data from cloud data warehouses
  • Strong understanding of data transformation and quality engineering (eg: dbt and Aairflow), and general software development lifecycle (SDLC, Agile development, CI/CD, Github).
  • Able to communicate about data and findings, drawing upon compelling and concise summaries and clear data visualizations (slides, whitepaper, Jupyter notebook, Tableau, Google DataStudio, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Creating clear documentation of designs and code changes through Github, Lucid, Jira, or Confluence.
