Data Analyst job description

The Data Analyst develops, implements, and delivers data analytics, tools, and dashboards to Learning Solutions. This role applies data knowledge to generate innovative solutions and consistently delivers results based on business objectives.

We are seeking a dynamic data analyst to support stakeholders across the Learning Hub business unit and enhance customer reporting and analytics. In this role, you will mine and analyze data from diverse sources such as Snowflake, AWS, MongoDB, and SQLServer. Your expertise in SQL and data visualization with PowerBI will enable you to create impactful reports and dashboards. You will collaborate with internal teams on projects ranging from instructional coaching to leadership programs, driving data-driven insights and efficiencies. Your ability to communicate complex findings and develop high-quality presentations will be crucial in adding value to the business.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Mine data from multiple data sources, including Snowflake, AWS, MongoDB, SQLServer, and others;
  • Write and revise SQL queries to acquire data;
  • Establish data pipelines in DBT, Fivetran and PowerBI;
  • Expertise in leveraging complex data sources to visually represent business metrics;
  • Ability to quickly prototype and transform ideas into high-quality work product;
  • Create data extracts or reports, primarily in Microsoft PowerBI;
  • Analyze data from a variety of sources into valuable insight and actionable items.
  • Uses appropriate techniques, design, modeling and optimization to provide answers to complex questions and problems
  • Drives the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
  • Defines, develops and implements best practices for data cleansing, validation and general quality control
  • Utilizes interviewing skills to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, and verify the business needs of the project stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Data Analyst job requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, technology, or education leadership AND
  • Three (3) years of experience in business intelligence and reporting, including at least 2 years of experience working with Microsoft PowerBI
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Experience developing reports and/or dashboards in business intelligence tools such as MS Access, MS Power BI, Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft PowerBI reporting and visualizations. A review of your portfolio of visualizations will be part of the interview process.
  • Experience with PowerApps, SSRS reporting objects, Snowflake, DBT, Streamsets and/or Alation Snowflake
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Experience with data analysis, modeling, design and documentation
  • Knowledge of programming standards and techniques, ideally with experience writing in SQL
  • Ability to communicate technology concepts effectively with technically proficient and non-technically proficient individuals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to pass required background check

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

We anticipate the salary range to be $73,674 to $117,887.40. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
