The primary role of Workforce Solutions Alamo is to align, focus and set direction for all workforce activities in the 12-county Alamo region. Workforce Solutions Alamo serves the counties of Atascosa, Comal, Bandera, Bexar, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina and Wilson.

Data Analyst job description

The Data Analyst for Network Engagement and Performance designs and develops methods and systems to consolidate and analyze large and complex sets of data to generate insights and solutions in support of Workforce Solutions Alamo. The Data Analyst uses software programs, and statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports and visualizations used to draw insights into network performance. Identifies, gathers, summarizes, and analyzes data aligned to the core business drivers and transformation projects. Identifies and communicates any data related issues/recommendations to the team, so they can quickly develop a resolution. Works with management to prioritize business and information needs. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Consult with team to prioritize key data sources, conduct analysis, identify key performance indicators, and create dashboards and reports.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and communicate insights and findings from analysis.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Develop and maintain effective strategies to track progress regarding data department goals.
  • Serve as a point of contact for data access, ad hoc reporting, and data visualization requests.
  • Oversight other technical staff on data management and data access.
  • Manage projects as assigned.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Knowledge on any statistical software, such as SAS, R, or SPSS is a plus.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office, particularly with PowerPoint and Word.
  • Must have demonstrated research and project management skills, possessed a strong work ethic, and enjoy working collaboratively.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in an executive, fast-paced office with tight deadlines. Confidentiality extremely important.
  • Ability to work independently or under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross functional teams to get desired results.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in a similar role. Knowledge and/or experience as an analyst or strong analytic background.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Will require occasional in-region and out-of-region travel; Must have proof of valid driver’s license and current auto insurance; must provide own transportation when on company business.
