Job Description & Responsibilities
Hub’s Specialty Practices is looking to hire a Risk and Data Analyst. The role will support primarily Client Analytics plus some projects related to Specialty Reporting.
Client Analytics is an important and growing resource within HUB International, the world’s 5th largest insurance brokerage firm, providing valuable Commercial Lines risk-financing decision support through data analysis and modeling. Report to Director of Client Analytics in this newly created role driven by high demand for our services.
Specialty Reporting includes data and revenue reporting to our Specialty and corporate leadership. It involves partnerships at different levels inside the Hub organization including Finance, Data & Analytics plus Carrier Strategies.
In This Role You Will
HUB is looking for someone with an analytics and customer service mindset to focus on running risk quantification and optimization projects from start to finish, including:
- data processing and analysis
- risk modeling and report creation
- internal and external presentations
Working out of a HUB office is preferable, but there may be some flexibility regarding which office and/or whether a hybrid or remote situation is possible. Occasional travel is expected.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Running proprietary WC, Auto, and GL analyses from start to finish
- Presenting analyses and findings to internal and external audiences
- Updating and improving presentation material
- Presenting our capabilities to various regions and industry specialty practices
- Becoming familiar with Risk66 software
- Creation of Industry reports to support sales prospecting and retention efforts
- Support the development of HUB’s internal benchmarking capabilities
- Updating and processing internal and external benchmark loss databases
- Running a variety of Industry and/or line of business reports upon request
- Supporting on-going data development strategies and projects
- Other data and analytics-related projects as needed
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following
- College degree with risk management, insurance, and/or mathematics focus and/or related job experience
- 1+ years of working experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar applications
- Experience with Broker Management Systems such as EPIC and Benefit Point and CRM systems a bonus
- Verbal and written communication skills, ability to work both independently and as part of team, time management, creative problem-solving
- Ability to accept responsibility, stay focused under pressure, and be responsive
- Be a ‘big-picture’ thinker who enjoys employing data-driven solutions and taking on new challenges
- A good grasp of the importance of data stewardship and protecting client data
- Previous work experience within the Insurance industry, or current HUB employees welcome

Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $100,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
