Job Description & Responsibilities
GitHub is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join a growing Business Insights team that is focused on delivering data-driven points of view and insights to elevate GitHub’s decision-making, alignment and expansion. This role will contextualize and synthesize data from across the company - internal business, customer, and market and competitor data. You’ll be expected to build meaningful insights from our data and market analysis that enable leaders and inform strategies and investments.
The Business Insights team sits within the Operations Organization driving evidence-based recommendations and frameworks to inform company-wide strategies that support GitHub now and help drive the GitHub of the future. This position requires an experienced analytics analyst that is action-oriented and data-focused, who will be primarily responsible for leveraging their exceptional data analytical and reporting skills, problem-solving and customer service focus. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with business data, conducting analysis and reporting in a global environment, coupled with previous experience using PowerBI and other tools.

Responsibilities
- Contextualize and synthesize data from across the company - internal business, customer, and market and competitor data.
- Analyze data, track patterns, and identify trends that impact business performance.
- Conduct in-depth analysis including modeling and forecasting to support strategic decision-making related to business performance and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting, dashboards, and visualizations that provide insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Transform data and observed trends into well communicated findings and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain a sharp landscape radar for competitive intelligence and market strategies.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, financial analysis, or data related roles retrieving, analyzing and manipulating large datasets.
- Prior experience with Power BI or high proficiency in other data analytics tools.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across many different stakeholders and senior leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of developer products and competitive analysis.
- Deep analytical skills and the ability to distill complex information into clear messages.
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence key stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
What we offer
Salary range:
USD $73,500.00 - USD $195,000.00 /Yr.
In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
