Who You Are

You will be embedded into Galaxy’s Data Analytics team as our newest hire in New York. As a Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring that stakeholders across Galaxy have access to actionable insights through effective data analysis, reporting, and visualization. Your expertise in querying large datasets will allow you to deliver meaningful insights that drive strategic business decisions. You will be responsible for managing client data systems and ensuring they adhere to Galaxy’s data quality and governance standards, while working closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Leverage your expertise in SQL and other query tools to analyze complex datasets, identifying trends and actionable insights that support business objectives.
• Work closely with different teams to gather their data requirements and deliver customized reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that align with their goals.
• Ensure that client data systems are maintained according to data quality and governance standards, monitoring for inconsistencies and driving corrective actions when necessary.
• Serve as a point of contact for data requests, understanding the landscape of internal and external data sources and integrating these into unified, actionable datasets for analysis.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis or Data Science roles, analyzing large datasets to solve problems
• Experience in utilizing/managing client data systems (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.)
• Expertise in data visualization and using these insights to make business recommendations
• Strong knowledge in SQL and expertise in at least one programming language (preferably Python)
• Experience in stakeholder management; Ability to clearly communicate results and drive impact
• Comfortable collaborating across functions to identify data analytics problems and execute solutions with technical rigor and data-driven solutions.

Bonus Points

• Practical experience in working in the FinTech/Finance/Crypto sector
• Hands-on experience with using/managing PySpark/Databricks in production environment
• Experience in utilizing Tableau/Power BI or any other data visualization tool
• Experience in utilizing timeseries databases
