Job Description & Responsibilities
Innovu is seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Financial Data Analyst to join our growing data science team. In this role, you will be key in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our financial reporting for our self-insured employer clients. You will leverage your financial expertise and analytical skills to develop methodologies, monitor data quality, and help us deliver valuable insights to our clients and their advisors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement methodologies for analyzing various data sets, including but not limited to medical, RX, and enrollment.
- Collaborate with the data science team to design and implement solutions within our analytics platform.
- Work with multiple teams to ensure data quality and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop rules and logic for financial reporting outputs.
- Test and validate financial reporting accuracy.
- Develop data quality test logic for implementation in the system.
- Communicate effectively regarding financial reports and data insights verbally and with written documentation.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public health or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare financial analysis or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and healthcare financial metrics.
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends and patterns.
- Experience with claims data analysis (medical, Rx, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with developing and implementing data analysis methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in Excel.
- The desire to learn and work with SQL is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to various audiences.
Additional Considerations
- Familiarity with self-insured employer health plans is a plus.
- Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Experience with medical coding is also a plus.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and a team player.
