Trane Technologies Residential HVAC and Supply business offers a broad portfolio of energy efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, air quality products, home automation and parts support. We ensure our customers are safe and comfortable, while reducing the impact on our shared environment. Our brands include Trane, American Standard, RunTru and Ameristar.
We are looking for a data analyst to help support and grow the data and analytics environment in the Residential space for Trane Technologies. The ideal candidate has a passion for all things data and the desire to share their knowledge to raise the capabilities of the self-service analytics community. The analyst will gain or deepen knowledge of the residential data in the shared workspace. They will guide users to the right data, help ensure conformity with naming conventions and calculations, and help track existing reports, workflows and tables. They will also contribute to a growing analytics culture.
Responsibilities
- Possess deep knowledge of Trane Technologies Residential data sources in order to advise analysts on appropriate use
- Collaborate with the business to understand analytics use cases and consult on best approach.
- Create standards around common metrics and calculations
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis to support business queries
- Develop training materials to support self-service data discovery, workflow development and dashboard development
- Provide first tier break/fix support for data source and data visualization issues
- Coach self-service analysts on creating data sets for analytics and reporting
- Create and provide consultation on best practice visualization techniques for a consistent look and feel for dashboards and improve ease of use for the consumers of the visualization
- Create data visualizations products that the business will maintain
- Oversee Tableau environment for Residential and provide recommendations for organizational principles.
- Perform QA of own work and others work trouble-shoot errors and fix problems before they leave the team.
- Engage with data engineers on data sources that need to be improved or added
- Participate in agile process with the team and deliver solutions
Requirements
Qualifications
- BS/BA in technical or analytics related field
- 3+ years experience in Tableau
- 3+ years experience in Alteryx, SQL
- Knowledge of big data tools, PySpark, Python, and/or R preferred
- Knowledge of Cloud Technologies such as AWS and/or GCP preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft products, Excel and PowerPoint
- Willing to learn new tools and coding languages to grow into the data space
- Proven communication skills with technical and business audiences.
- Tenacity to work through complex data sets, changing business requirements, and evolving corporate environment a must.

Base Compensation Range is $52,000-108,000 Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
