Data Analyst job description

The Data Analyst will be a naturally curious individual, passionate about uncovering hidden insights and driving business improvements through data interpretation. The role involves turning data into information, which can offer ways to improve business decisions. The Data Analyst will gather information (operational, financial and clinical) from various sources and interpret patterns and trends, but also be responsible for the routine maintenance and generation of reports. This individual will serve as a business partner, collaborating with various stakeholders across the company to leverage data in strategic decision-making and operational management. With a continuous improvement mindset, this analyst has a pivotal role in fostering a data-driven culture and ensuring that data insights are accessible and actionable for all business areas.

What You’ll Do

  • Under the guidance of the Sr. Intelligence Analyst, drive reporting lifecycles - gathering requirements, designing, and developing, testing, documenting, maintaining, and troubleshooting - across a variety of business intelligence tools.
  • Analyze business issues using data from internal and external sources and provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting.
  • Perform data scrubbing, troubleshooting and quality checking prior to delivery of results.
  • Assist as a technical liaison and consultant for end-users, providing ongoing support, service, and training.
  • Develop and update technical documentation for reporting systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business/finance, computer science, engineering, information systems or a related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in the healthcare industry providing knowledge of terminology, processes, and data requirements within the field.
  • Experience with an EMR/EHR platform.
  • Epic experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft excel, or other analytical software. (Preferred)
  • Ability to write ad hoc SQL queries. (Preferred)

National Salary Range

$67,800.00 - $108,500.00

National Plus Salary Range

$72,700.00 - $123,600.00

National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
