Job Description & Responsibilities
The Data Analyst II (DA) position is responsible for the gathering, cleaning, transfer, management, storage, and analysis of data from a variety of sources to assist with business operations. The DA will work closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure completeness of vision based on business requirements.
The DA may be responsible for other activities including research, reporting, and participating in the design and testing of data deliverables.
- Perform Extract, Transformation and Loading (ETL) procedures for implementing data integration and data migration tasks in support of data integration projects
- Develop mappings and workflows to automate data integration and complete data conversions
- Effectively map source to target data to meet business/system requirements
- Provides analytical support to any or all divisions of the organization by mining data, conducting analysis, and interpreting results related to business needs
- Developing knowledge of and the ability to analyze data from most commonly used data systems
- Debug, analyze and troubleshoot data quality issues
- Create and Manage EDI Maps and Connections for Customers, Vendors, Third Party Warehouses, and VAN's
- Assist with the development of functional and technical requirements documents for diverse audience (technical and non-technical), including migration, implementation, and test plans
- Identify problems or needed changes, recommends resolution, and participates in quality improvement efforts
- Draft working documents for interfaces and other data systems
- Establishes and maintains productive business partnerships across the organization
- Manages expectations through direct and routine interaction with business partners
- Share knowledge and help mentor fellow team members
- May work under project manager or more senior level IT staff for projects
- May direct other staff on assignments
- Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective system operations
This position primarily works in an office environment with a computer.
Requirements
Qualifications
- B.S in technology or related disciplines or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of related experience with data concepts, structures, and architecture
- 2+ years experience with data mapping, integrations, and conversions
- Ability to write medium to complex data queries, manipulation of data (SQL)
- 2+ experience with analytical/reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- 1+ Administrative experience with SharePoint and MS Suites
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and to lead others in a directed effort to complete projects
- Strong verbal communication skills including the proven ability to communicate effectively on an individual and group presentation basis
- Skill in assessing stakeholder needs and asking probing questions to understand underlying needs and surface essential requirements information
- Demonstrated ability to work with employees and management at all levels of the organization including skill in working across organizational and geographical boundaries
- Strong analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into details, abstract up from detailed information to a more general understanding, discern underlying true needs from presented user requests, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
- Ability to work with changing requirements/priorities using internal and external resources
- Demonstrated skill and ability to produce effective written communication, including report preparation, and documentation for a variety of audiences
- Skilled in software including but not limited to Word and Excel
- Ability to learn new systems and applications
- Ability to task manage using service management tool - Jira, admin experience preferred
- Ability to be self-managed and apply skills in problem solving and decision-making
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet tight schedules and demanding targets while delivering high quality products; effectively managing competing priorities and reconciling divergent expectations
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to follow through on tasks
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
- Both local and overnight travel may be required
What we offer
Salary: Starting at $87k to $108k depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm
