Data Analyst job description

We are seeking a highly skilled ERP Data Analyst to join our Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in T-SQL and SQL Server, data transformation, and EDI transactions. Experience with Deacom ERP is highly desired, along with a solid understanding of major ERP systems. The candidate should also have experience in the fresh food industry or manufacturing. Please NO interns or Co-op applications, we are seeking a min of 3 years experience in your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Perform database backup and restore operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Execute ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, including data cleansing and validation.
  • Implement and troubleshoot EDI transactions, adhering to industry standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT).
  • Generate and customize ERP reports.
  • Maintain and validate master data within the ERP system.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for ERP-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects using project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Ensure high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in data management and reporting.

  • Proficient in T-SQL and SQL Server, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Agent.
  • Knowledge of database backup strategies and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Understanding of EDI standards and experience with EDI transactions.
  • Proficiency in ERP reporting and familiarity with reporting tools.
  • Understanding of master data concepts and practices.
  • Familiarity with Deacom ERP is highly desired.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Basic understanding of software development principles and practices (Python, R is a plus).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience with data transformation and ETL processes.
  • 3-5 years of experience with any major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Experience in the fresh food industry or manufacturing is desired.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
