Job Description & Responsibilities
This role brings the ability to understand data from all angles, and the charismatic energy to inspire our customers to become organizations driven by data. In addition to the typical responsibilities of an analyst, the Data Analyst III will make a massive, transformative impact on the day-to-day operations of our customers. They will coach customers to do more with their data, to ask the right questions, and to become data-driven organizations.
Responsibilities And Contributions
Organizational and Leadership Role
- Leads by example, and coaches others directly.
- Takes initiative for their own growth through personal leadership.
- Coach teams on how to properly make decisions with data.
Functional Role
- Work closely with SMEs to interpret the results of data.
- Analyze data to answer questions across a variety of domains.
- Produce data visualizations that tell a story with data.
- Create and maintain dashboards to inform key stakeholders.
- Prepare reports that identify trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
- Document procedures and methodology used in analysis.
- Prepare data for analysis.
- Gather domain knowledge to recognize relevant insights.
- Verbally present analysis to stakeholders in high-stakes settings.
- Drive the development of user personas and product features with data.
- Query, collect and aggregate data from a multitude of different sources.
- Work with stakeholders to formalize hypotheses for analysis.
- Independently identify hypotheses for analysis that will drive business decisions.
- Conduct cause & effect analysis to understand the root cause of data events.
- Can prioritize different data analysis tasks effectively and appropriately.
- Inform objectives and key results using relevant data.
- Coach customers as they migrate to a more data-driven mindset.
Requirements
Essential Skills, Experience, or Competencies
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated directly related working experience
- Experience in creating and using real-time data visualizations and dashboards, such as Tableau or Microstrategy
- Experience in conducting data queries and developing algorithms to mine data and analyze data structures
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (or similar).
- Proficient in creating data visualizations in Python, Ruby, or SAS.
- Ability to learn new technology independently.
- Deep knowledge of descriptive statistics.
- Mastery of the art of data storytelling.
- Exceptional business acumen.
- Proficient with Splunk, the ELK Stack, or similar.
- Proficient with various BI Tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, etc).
- Proficient with Relational Databases (MySQL, MS SQL Server, etc).
- Extensive experience working with stakeholders.
- Strong verbal presentation & communication skills.
- Past experience working with government
- Comfortable leveraging data to make key business decisions.
- Ability to obtain security credential required for this project: Public Trust
Icing-on-the-Cake Skills
- Experience with time series databases.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience working with distributed data with Apache Spark, BigQuery, or similar.
- Experience querying distributed datastores with Apache Drill, Presto, or similar.
- A/B testing experience.

- Technical Interview (Skills Fit): This is where we get into the nitty gritty of the project. During the Technical Interview, you’ll be interviewed by the technical team to dig more into your background and technical capabilities.
- Business Interview: At this point, you’ve made it to the final frontier! The Business Interview is when you’ll meet with Fearless leadership to dot the i’s, cross the t’s, and determine whether or not we’ll be moving forward with the hiring process.

Compensation
Our Compensation System is designed to reward remarkable work, grow your impact and support the whole “you” over the course of your career.
We believe in paying people fairly, so we've established a compensation model aimed to ensure everyone at Fearless — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, nationality, or negotiation skills — is given equal pay for equal work. Our approach to compensation is intended to ensure our total package serves all of your needs and includes base pay, medical and other benefits, performance rewards, 401k matching, plus a few perks (tech and wellness reimbursement programs)! Our salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location and provide team members salary growth within a salary grade over time. Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position). Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance.
The salary ranges for this position based on location are listed below. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified as a part of our annual salary range review.

- AL, FL, GA, TN Residents: $90,015 (min) - $117,019 (mid) - $144,024 (max)
- NC Residents: $92,799 (min) - $120,639 (mid) - $148,478 (max)
- DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents: $97,439 (min) - $126,671 (mid) - $155,902 (max)
- DC Residents: $109,503 (min) - $142.354 (mid) - $175,204 (max)
- CA, NY, NJ Residents: $113,215 (min) - $147,179 (mid) - $181,143 (max)
