Data Analyst job description

The Data Analyst, Master Data is a vital contributor to our Liquid IV’s data management strategy, ensuring a high-quality master data environment to drive informed decision-making and support operational excellence. This role is a key steward in shaping our data governance practices and enabling us to unlock the full potential of our data assets.

The Data Analyst, Master Data will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of master data within our organization. They will ensure the integrity and quality of master data sets, such as customer data, product data, vendor data, and other critical information, to support various business functions and processes.

A successful candidate is a thoughtful, technologically savvy, adaptable, collaborative, analytical team player who loves establishing and enforcing data governance policies and best practices. They will enjoy collaborating closely with cross functional teams, including Tech, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Sales, to understand the business data needs, ensure we adhere to our data governance rules, and provide accurate and actionable insights.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Master Data Management: in collaboration with our business unit lead, develop, implement, and maintain data standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of master data across systems and processes, both internal and external.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Monitor and analyze data quality metrics, identify data inconsistencies, anomalies, and gaps, and proactively address issues through data cleansing and enrichment activities.
  • Data Governance: Assist in establishing and enforcing data governance policies, processes, and controls to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Data Initiatives: Support, analyze, and resolve data initiative issues and manages revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with various business functions to understand their data requirements and translate them into meaningful master data solutions and improvements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Perform in-depth data analysis, generate reports, and present insights to stakeholders to support informed decision-making and drive operational efficiency.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance master data management processes and workflows to streamline data maintenance, improve data quality, and reduce errors.
  • Documentation and Training: Document data management procedures, guidelines, and standards, and provide training and support to end-users to promote data literacy and adherence to data best practices.
Data Analyst job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Administration, or any other related field, or an equivalent of this requirement in working experience.
  • 4+ years of strong data management experience in data analysis, data quality management, and master data management within dynamic & rapidly growing complex organizational environments, CPG/Manufacturing/Wholesale/Retail preferred.
  • Experience working with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of a multi-cultural organization
  • An adaptable, self-motivated, well organized, service oriented, intellectually curious, analytical mind with good judgement and strong prioritization skills
  • A passion for technology, research and data, puzzle solving, proficiency in data management tools and technologies, such as data integration, data quality, and data governance solutions.
  • Strong technological skill, familiarity with relational databases, SQL, Excel, and statistical analysis tools. Prior knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Kinaxis and/or Anaplan will serve you well.
  • Hands on usage of tools like MS Azure, SQL, Power BI, etc.
