Job Description & Responsibilities
This Data Analyst is focused on the development, creation, and support of analytic solutions supporting UnitedHealthcare’s Government Programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Individual and Family Exchange Business. We are seeking a highly skilled and curious Data Analyst to join our Data and Analytics team. This role involves creating and maintaining member impact reporting related to pharmacy claims and prior authorizations. In addition, this role partners with account managers to deliver data-driven solutions for pharmacy benefit operations. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain a variety of recurring and ad-hoc reports, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. They will also explore data to identify patterns and insights and contribute to the continuous improvement of our reporting processes. Proficiency in SQL is essential; SAS a plus. This position is an individual contributor.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and maintenance of reports: Support the creation and upkeep of both recurring and ad-hoc reports, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with senior analysts and account managers: Work closely with more experienced team members to deliver data-driven solutions for pharmacy benefit operations
Support data exploration and analysis: Help identify patterns and insights from data to support business decisions
Manage assigned tasks: Handle tasks assigned by supervisors, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards
Contribute to process improvements: Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of reporting processes
Learn and apply new tools and technologies: Show a willingness to learn and utilize new software and tools, such as SAS, Python and Databricks, under the guidance of senior team members
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, with a proven curiosity for exploring data, testing hypotheses, and identifying patterns to drive insights
1+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL for querying and managing data
Experience with report development, both ad-hoc and recurring
Proven ability to work under supervision, with guidance from senior team members
Demonstrated solid attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Proven effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience analyzing pharmacy claims data and other related PBM data sets such as prior authorization and eligibility
Experience with process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency
Familiarity with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) and basic understanding of SAS code, including PROC steps and DATA steps
Basic knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI
Understanding of data governance and best practices in data management
Demonstrated willingness to learn new tools and technologies, such as Python and Databricks
What we offer
The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
