Data Analyst job description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in the development and execution of various types of monitoring and reporting to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies from the Project Management Office n(PMO). The Data Analyst is responsible for driving PMO health insights through reporting, metric tracking, and monitoring of Portfolio & Project Management data within the SCA Health systems and tools. This role will gather data from multiple sources and create reports, dashboards to illustrate the story the data tells. Your ability to take in requirements, obtain & interpret data, and return a meaningful illustration of it all will set you apart.

Working directly with PMO leadership you will drive the creative development of dashboards to illustrate key metrics from across the Project & Portfolio Management footprint. The position is also responsible for driving quality resource management data used in the ServiceNow tool for all Information Technology teammates. You will create dynamic reporting to assist leaders in decision making for resource usage, capacity planning, and teammate time tracking. Also assisting in driving the resource management tool usage and adoption. Additional duties include PMO internal metrics tracking and project management audits across the PMO.

This position requires proactiveness, willingness to learn from various business areas, and ability to make recommendations on how best to improve process and/or use technology to solve business problems.

Specific Job Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills is a must - possessing the ability to use spreadsheets, graphing, tables, calculations, advanced formulas & functions, pivots, and automation efficiently to process large quantities of data relevant to business tasks.
  • Strong experience with SQL development, databases, and reporting is a must.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, including a proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment.
  • Proven ability to manage key stakeholders while managing competing priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills including conflict/issue resolution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with customers, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively with project resources across multiple departments.
  • Substantial experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint (Microsoft Office 365 experience is a must. Azure is a plus)
  • Strong experience with SQL development, databases, and reporting is a must.
  • Knowledge and usage of Excel Power Pivot
  • Knowledge of Power B.I. is a plus

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree or greater (all majors considered, ideally MIS, MCS, or ITI)
  • 4 to 6 years relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience using Service Now PPM and/or Resource Management module is a plus!
