Job Description & Responsibilities
We are looking for a passionate FinOps Data Analyst to transform the speed and quality of our insights for product costs, infrastructure optimization and data quality. Your work will enable Smarsh to discover and act on cost efficiencies, accurately forecast cost and data usage, optimize cloud spend and deliver predictable profitability. You'll work closely with our FinOps and horizontally across our Enterprise Engineering and Product Management organizations with strong internal partnership with Finance. You’ll be working in PowerBI, Excel or notebooks nearly every day to improve our cost infrastructure, identify savings opportunities and provide timely information to the business.

How will you contribute?
- Mature and improve our information systems for dynamic SaaS cost reporting across products, geographies, and customers.
- Work with FinOps to define requirements and prioritize changes that will improve our information quality.
- Develop scalable data analysis for cost and usage forecasting, anomaly monitoring, and unit costs, leveraging vendor tools where appropriate.
- Create and distribute monthly and quarterly reports on costs (with FinOps) and product profitability (with Finance) for Executives and the Board of Directors.
- Be entrusted to lead programs responsible for driving real change.
Requirements
What will you bring?
- 5+ years of work experience in data analysis for public cloud SaaS companies
- BS or BA degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Business or Economics; Master’s degree is a plus
- Highly proficient in Power BI including DAX, PowerQuery, multiple data sources, MS Excel and visualizations
- Highly proficient in data analysis, including time series, trend forecasting and anomaly detection
- Highly proficient in cloud reporting, analysis and architecture
- Excellent written and verbal skills, communicating to internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organized with a strong ability to prioritize
- AWS or GCP Certifications and FinOps certification all a plus
- Data science understanding and Python proficiency is a plus

$125,000 - $165,000 a year
The above salary range represents Smarsh's good faith and a reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. Any applicable bonus programmes will be discussed during the recruiting process. The salary for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, location, specialty, and training. Local cost of living assessments are done for each new hire at the time of the offer.
