Senior Data Analyst job description

This role will play a crucial role in the migration of data from PeopleSoft HCM and Finance to the new ERP (Workday), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical/technical background, including experience in data analysis, extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

Job Responsibilities

Data Analysis

  • Analyze PeopleSoft Finance and HR data structures, schemas, and formats to understand data requirements for migration to new ERP.
  • Analyze and understand legacy data structures and tables of PeopleSoft Finance/HR.
  • Attend requirements gathering sessions to gather requirements for Finance/HCM data mapping and provide inputs to Data conversion team.
  • Assist with creation of test scripts to validate data load into new ERP.
  • Validate the data loaded into the new ERP and identify data issues, data anomalies and work with the data conversion team to resolve errors..

Documentation

  • Ensure complete and comprehensive documentation that is of high quality.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with organizational standards and project documentation guidelines.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT Workstream Project Manager, business analysts, developers, and testers, to ensure seamless integration of data conversion activities within the overall project plan.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, gather requirements, and address questions or concerns related to data conversion activities.
  • Adhere to project management expectations to ensure alignment to clear roles and responsibilities, and communication and collaboration standards.
  • Promptly escalate issues related to data conversion to the Data Conversion Leads, IT Workstream Project Manager, IT Workstream Lead, and ERP PMO.
Senior Data Analyst job requirements

Required

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data conversion development, preferably in PeopleSoft Finance implementations in at least 3 modules
  • Good understanding of PeopleSoft Data Structure, Conversion tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • High Proficiency in SQL and People Tools, including Application Designer, and Integration Broker.
  • Good understanding of data mapping, data modeling, and data integration concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Be self-managers and operate independently.
  • Manage complex data conversion activities with tact and expediency.
  • Adjust priorities as data conversions work pace and needs require.

Desired

  • PeopleSoft certification(s) is a plus.
  • Higher Education experience is a plus.

Individual base salary for this position is unique to each candidate and will be commensurate with experience, education, and skills, ranging from $65,000 - $80,000.
