Senior Data Analyst job description

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Senior Data Modeler/Senior Data Analyst at Alice + Olivia, you will play a crucial role in supporting our data warehouse expansion plans. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data infrastructure is robust, efficient, and capable of delivering actionable insights to drive our business forward.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain complex data models that support our data warehouse and reporting needs. This includes conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies and decision-making.
  • ETL Development: Design and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance, ensuring efficient query execution and minimal downtime.
  • Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance policies and best practices to maintain data accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, processes, and procedures.
Senior Data Analyst job requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Data Modeler or Data Analyst, with a focus on data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in data warehouse tools such as DBT Core, managing project sources with GIT/BitBucket very important.
  • Exposure to full Data Warehouse stacks such as Matillion, Snowflake and Sigma (or any combination of similar tools)
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fashion retail industry experience is a plus.
