Job Description & Responsibilities
OpenResearch Lab is conducting the most comprehensive unconditional cash transfer RCT in the United States. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team, and play an integral role driving insights and supporting data analyses across a number of research topics (including employment, expenditures, health, housing, time use, etc.)
You will be part of a small team and are expected to work closely with the principal investigators and data director. Your responsibilities will include:
- develop, enhance, and maintain STATA and R analytic datasets;
- utilize statistical analysis to identify trends and extract meaningful insights
- create informative and visually compelling reports, tables, and graphics related to data analysis and to present data insights
- develop processes to clean and consolidate datasets
- collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate specific outcomes or hypotheses
- ensure all data-related activities adhere to relevant data security and protection standards
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
- Masters’ degree or higher in Statistics, Public Health, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
- Programming and data analysis skills in both R and STATA statistical programming languages. Strong fluency in R is essential.
- Experience with analytical approaches, statistical methodology, statistical analysis and modeling
- Demonstrated knowledge of data management including data cleaning, data storage and archiving, data analysis, data visualization and data interpretation
- Experience aggregating and manipulating complex data from multiple sources
- Strong investigation skills
- Understanding of experimental design and causal inference
- Proficiency in data visualization
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices, methods and strategies to ensure use of high-quality data to inform complex issues
- Ability to work both independently, in a self-directed manner, and as a team member
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and compelling written materials geared towards technical and non-technical audiences
- Previous research experience and experience working on RCTs is a plus; interest in domestic economic and social policy issues also a plus
- Proven ability to consistently manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and relationships; willingness to learn and adapt to changes

Starting at $100,000/yr
