Project Diamond is an exciting and high-profile project at Walmart whose purpose is to solve the biggest inventory challenges in retail using Artificial Intelligence, mobile devices, and embedded systems. We are a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team who recently graduated from Store No8, Walmart's technology incubator, into Walmart Global Tech. About The Role

As a Senior Data Analyst for Project Diamond, you'll leverage your sharp analytical skills and strategic thinking to develop and refine technical products and business models . You'll be pioneering technologies that reinvent the customer and associate experience, new ways of working, and new ways of shopping. Working with a cross-functional team consisting of Store Operations, Product, Tech, UX, Engineering, and Data Scientists you will solve complex problems at scale. This is an individual contributor position.

You'll Make An Impact By

  • Driving Strategic Analytics - You will drive towards a cohesive set of reporting and analytics tools that help us simplify our work and progress into a more insights and analytics focused team.
  • Defining business models and strategies - You will work collaboratively with teams across Walmart to locate, pull and utilize data to define and refine business models and strategies
  • Building financial models - You will develop financial models that help your team understand and communicate the ROI of new technology
  • Producing Informative Financial Materials - You will create and present financial information to business partners in a clear and concise manner to help drive adoption and comprehension across Project Diamond
  • Defining business plans and projects - You will help identify best paths forward for technical projects, making recommendations for testing, rollout strategies, scaling and more
  • Improving technical products through data analysis - you pull and organize data to help the team understand, analyze and improve existing AI products
  • Establishing strong data best practices - You will act as a data leader by defining and promoting best practices for organizing, utilizing and communicating data
Senior Data Analyst job requirements

You'll sweep us off our feet if...

  • You love digging into the numbers to find new opportunities or patterns to explain "the what and why" behind performance.
  • You are proficient with Big Query/SQL and enjoy looking into adhoc problems
  • You have significant experience building complex financial models and are able to translate model outputs into strategic product and business decisions
    You are interested in understanding the ROI of technical products and have experience developing scalable business models
  • You're able to pull metrics to improve performance and make strategic recommendations based on data
  • You have a test and learn mentality and an agile way of using data
    You have strong data visualization skills and a working knowledge of multiple data visualization tools (for example, Python, R libraries, GGplot, Matplotlibm Ploty, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
  • You're excited about solving complex challenges and are customer-centric in spirit and in execution
  • You are open to a constantly evolving role that shifts with the needs of the business
  • You're comfortable influencing others, managing stakeholders, and communicating clearly
  • You have experience with two or more of the following: retail, inventory, merchandising, artificial intelligence, IoT, computer vision and/or building custom camera hardware.
  • You've worked in small teams/incubators
