Job Description & Responsibilities
This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites up to four days per week and work remotely the remaining day(s). A member of our Talent Acquisition team will provide more details.
Job Summary
This role will help support our data factory platform (Application and DB Server maintenance) and support some .NET applications. It will also provide support for in creating data models using various data marts and help develop and deliver data analytics, metrics and reporting products and strategy for Operations. It is essential to have strong working knowledge of financial services products, understanding of the data sources being used for reporting and be able to ensure that all data components are working as expected. It will also help mentor data analysts in building data marts necessary to prepare the components of products being delivered.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist in creating new data analytics including the analysis of metrics and risk assessment results, where needed by providing scripts for the data components.
- Provide system and platform support to make sure our data factory components and related jobs are running in production.
- Use data to create models
- Provide support for .NET applications being used by Operations to capture data gaps not provided by source systems.
- Work with application developers to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual data models
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
- 6-8 years' work experience with quantitative analysis and platform support
- Strong experience in developing applications using .NET
- Strong financial industry experience
- Advanced SQL and data integration skills using SSIS and other equivalent tools.
- Expert knowledge in all business processes across an entire line of business, as well expertise in other lines of business and technology disciplines
- Strong understanding of waterfall and agile methods, stakeholder management, budget management, risk management, and operations
- Work with application developers to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual data models
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts
- Perform day-to-day operational support; may mentor other analysts
- Handle multiple simultaneous data and reporting projects
- Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions
- Experience with Cognos and Tableau and their respective consumption of data is preferred
Nice-To-Haves
- Use of other data modeling tools will be considered with the core skill set: Python (descriptive / predictive models), and Tableau Viz
- Streamline and automate processes to ensure data lineage, consistency, integrity, and transparency
- Participate in the design and delivery of solutions that support the fundamental data and governance process
- Technology infrastructure or application development experience
- Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models
What we offer
The typical base pay range for this role is between $120K - $150K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
