Job Description & Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.
This position is responsible for ongoing analysis of health care information, obtained from a variety of sources, including patient care, and demographic data. It involves development and preparation of information products for association staff and members. It requires the ability to analyze data from conceptualization through presentation of the data.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and perform statistical analyses under the supervision of the Director for the Qualitative Core of Center for Surgical and Transplant Applied Research.
- Serve as a data analyst to the Center of Surgical and Transplant Applied Research (C-Star), using a range of data sources including: Electronic health records (NYU Epic); Community- based health and demographic surveys; Project-specific surveys and assessments; Focus Group and Interview Data; Administrative records (births, education, Medicaid claims); Other novel data sources
- Contribute original thoughts, hypotheses, and analysis to write reports, abstracts and manuscripts under faculty supervision
- Support grant proposal submissions and support funder reports for NIH funded grants
- Liaise with senior researchers at other institutions to conduct analyses on behalf of national scientific committees
- Prepare interim reports to summarize ongoing cohort studies for principal investigators, study staff, and data safety and monitoring boards
- Under faculty supervision, design analytical strategies for research proposals and draft statistical analysis plans for grants
- Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in related discipline (public health, social work, humanities/anthropology, epidemiology, related discipline)
Strong facility with qualitative analysis software (i.e. NVivo, MaxQDA, Dedoose, etc.)
Strong aptitude, desire to learn new skills and information, and ability to interpret complex analytic quantitative and qualitative information; strong attention to detail
Demonstrated organizational skills, self-motivation, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic, highly creative, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in related discipline (public health, social work, humanities/anthropology, epidemiology, related discipline)
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
What we offer
NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $85,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
