Data Analyst, Product & Pricing job description

We are seeking a Data Analyst – Product & Pricing to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Product and Pricing Analyst as they build a brand-new pricing and analytics function within our category leading SaaS company.

As a Data Analyst – Product & Pricing, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Analyst to derive data-driven insights that will inform our product roadmap and pricing strategy. This role requires a deep skillset in data analysis.

Role Specifics

  • Work Location: Remote, US [PT, MT, or CT timezones preferred]
  • Travel: 20% [The percent of travel is an estimation, and it could vary up or down based on business needs throughout the year.]
  • Compensation: $85,000 - $135,000/ year DOE

What You Will Own

Product Analytics:

  • Perform general product analytics including user behavior analysis, feature adoption, and product performance to support Product Managers in discovery and roadmap definition
  • Serve as primary administrator for product analytics tools and key liaison for data platforms leveraged across the organization
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create a unified and comprehensive source of truth & data strategy
  • Establish and track KPIs to monitor overall product performance

Pricing Analytics:

  • Conduct pricing analysis including market research, competitive benchmarking, and customer segmentation including stakeholder interviews and surveys, to better understand customer value and willingness to pay
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to assess product-market fit, evaluate price elasticity, and optimize pricing models
  • Build predictive models to forecast trends, perform scenario analysis, and predict outcomes
  • Establish KPIs to track pricing performance and evaluate the effectiveness of pricing initiatives

Data Management:

  • Assist with the integration of data from various sources and implement best practices to streamline data collection and reporting
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance by implementing rigorous data validation processes and resolving data quality issues as they arise
  • Assist in building out a data practice, strategy and roadmap on which we can generate world-class insights and an AI/ML strategy

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Revenue Ops, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success and Finance, to gather data requirements and provide actionable insights

Report Development:

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to communicate analytical findings effectively
  • Support adoption and enable self-serve across functions, ensuring that data-driven insights are accessible and actionable across the organization

Data Analyst, Product & Pricing job requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Data Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytics-based role
  • 1+ years experience working for a SaaS company
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Domo, etc.
  • Experience with product analytics tools such as Pendo, Gainsight PX, Amplitude, etc.
  • Experience with Salesforce reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in applicable field of study
  • Strong aptitude for delivering outcomes and clarity in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in seeking answers or direction
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a commitment to data accuracy
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Familiarity with value-based pricing & packaging practices & methodologies
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of pricing concepts, market dynamics, and competitive strategy
  • Knowledge of data warehousing processes and experience working with relational databases
  • Previous experience supporting pricing and analytics for enterprise-level products
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques for predictive modeling and data mining
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis
